It's been a good little while since I've blogged. lol I've kept on a writin songs, but haven't totally fallen in love with one in a bit.
Here are the beginning lyrics of a new one, though. I've been listening to The Civil Wars and The Band Perry some, and have been drawing inspiration from their style. The song is about having a friend that's just on the other side of a wall, purposefully. And, though I am in one room and so on one side of the wall and they in another room on the other side of the wall, how I so determine to bring that wall down and get to the friend. I think it's just a good message about not giving up on the people that sometimes get written off as hopeless.
Or, who knows? Maybe we've written ourselves off as hopeless and feel like there is a wall separating us from God. Well, then this song is to you. Hope you enjoy. =~)
This Wall is Coming Down
Beating my head against this
wall is pointless
if you can't even hear it from
the other side.
Some people may say
to give up, it's too late.
But I care
too much
about your life...
So I'm not giving up
If it means you get hurt
I'm bringing down this barrier
Or drenching it in my blood
'til I run dry--
'til the wallpaper's peeling
and the pattern haunts my dreams;
'til I've bled the last ounce of my life--
and this wall is coming down.
